Wide areas of Barnesville were without power early Sunday. SRE was reporting only one outage at 9:30 a.m.
The issue may stem from a transmission line problem that darkened Forsyth, Monroe County and parts off Bibb and Lamar Friday. The LCSO was reportedly without power.
UPDATE: Several people have reported hearing a transformer explode near downtown. So, the outage may be local. Power was restored in some areas at 9:48 a.m.

We are behind Heritage Inn and always get power restored quickly.
Note to self: always live close to health facilities for this reason.
with his lights on by the funeral home.. I agree with you Charlie that it should be treated like a 4 way stop, but shouldn't the officer be standing in the middle of the intersection directing traffic ??? That was how the "old school cops" did their job.
The officers just can't seem to please us, can they?
Either they're all up in our business and we don't appreciate it, or " there's never a cop around when you need one".
My father was out of his squad car directing traffic at an intersection in Denver and was struck by a car, which then sped off. Dad said he had presence of mind to recall the license plate number which he saw while on the ground. He was injured for 8 months. He remarked that he would try to get hit by a city bus the next time as he was sure their insurance would be better.
Our society may be like it is because 1) We cannot think for ourselves and won't or can't take responsibility for our own actions and 2) We play the blame game. Again, we won't take responsibility for our own actions.
This was on a Sunday morning. Most people who were out were probably traveling to church. If the cop hadn't arrived yet, how should this be handled?
Sometimes we have to decide on our own. What would you have done?
