Just days into his administration, Lamar County sheriff Brad White was crediting cooperation and good police work on the part of his staff for the arrest of a man investigators think is a serial arsonist who may have been setting fires in empty, foreclosed upon and marketed homes in Lamar and surrounding counties since 2007.
Travis Leroy Ball, 46, of 156 Carter Circle in Warner Robins was arrested at 12:15 a.m. January 8 as he allegedly fled into Lamar County after setting two fires in Upson County.
This team of Lamar deputies reacted to two arsons in Upson County last week and arrested Travis Leroy Ball in connection with a string of such fires dating back to
2007. Ball’s white Toyota Corolla is behind them in the sheriff’s impound lot.

Great job and great police work. And before y'all start saying well that's their jobs, I believe they went above and beyond and were proactive in stopping this criminal before someone was physically hurt. An "attaboy" is definitely in order here and a hearty thank you to these deputies and our sheriff for catching this guy dang near red handed.

It was great police work. But, isn't doing great police work their job?
