Excitement is in the air as plans have begun for a Gordon Grammar School reunion to be held in Spring 2015. The old school building once stood where the Barnesville-Lamar County Library is now.
Though Gordon Grammar School no longer exists, school spirit is still among those who attended or taught at the school. Through the years, people have asked, “Is there ever going to be a Gordon Grammar School reunion?” It is happening. A reunion committee has been established and includes Kathy Bates Anthony, Truman Boyle, Dee Bankston Kitchings, Midgie McKoy Coddington, Lanie Lifsey Long, Jolynn Mangham Cichocki, and Jane Roberts Loman. They are trying to obtain contact information for anyone who ever attended or taught at Gordon Grammar School.
Those who have not been contacted recently by a committee member and wish to be invited can submit contact information to the committee at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling the Gordon Grammar School reunion committee hotline, 678-404-0848 by Saturday, June 14.
Contact information should include name, the year the person attended Gordon Grammar, mailing address, an email address and a telephone number. The information requested by the committee is for sending invitations to former students and staff members when the time gets closer to the event.
Those who have any pictures of Gordon Grammar School, their class and school activities to share can send them to the above email address for use by the committee in planning the event.
