Joshua Lively, 17, was shot at a home in a Williamson subdivision Wednesday, Jan. 9 by his step father Paul Johnson after Lively allegedly became aggressive while holding a knife. He passed away around 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10.
Yes, he could have. But without being there you have no idea of the situation. When having to make a snap judgement to shoot or not shoot in a fluid, close-range situation, it is not always as easy as it sounds to hit someone in an arm or leg. You take the shot that presents itself. The Step-Father probably would have preferred the situation did not devolve to the point he had to pull a gun and shoot, but it did and he did.
