An 17-year-old Butts county girl was killed in a single vehicle crash on High Falls Road in Lamar County Wednesday. The male driver of the car lost control of what appeared to be an Isuzu Amigo in an S-curve near the entrance to White Oak subdivision and flipped it several times. The girl was ejected and died at the scene. Charges are pending against the driver. The state patrol’s accident reconstruction team is investigating. A retired Butts deputy at the scene late Wednesday afternoon said he was the driver’s uncle. He identified the victim as Maria Stegall and the driver as Heith Holifield. He said the teens were on their way back to summer school when the accident occurred.
