27 arrests made for underage possession (now updated)

In what seemed like a scene from the Will Ferrell movie ‘Old School’ gone awry where promised is “All the fun of college, none of the education,” Barnesville resident and Gordon College freshman David E. Williams was arrested (in addition to dozens of others) for various charges including underage possession and contribution. For nearly three weeks now neighbors have been complaining about a run down home at 112 Yatesville Road. On any given night neighbors reported empty beer cans strewn about the lawn and overflowing the trash can. Williams, the occupant of the home, born April 8, 1972, allegedly had parties that involved underage drinking, marijuana use, and even advertised live sex acts. A team of law enforcement agents, led by Jesse Blackmon of the Barnesville Police Department, raided the home at about 11 p.m. April 7 as a birthday party, held by Williams and advertised on Facebook, was in full swing. Before all was said and done, some 20 officers, including deputies from the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department, had arrested 27 underage revelers for alleged possession of alcohol. One person was arrested for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Williams was charged with 27 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and keeping a disorderly house. Additional charges are forthcoming and Williams is still being held. As of 3 p.m. April 9, the number of counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor has been lowered to 25. However, charges for tampering with utilities has been added to Williams offenses. According to the Barnesville Police Department, the alleged Big Daddy D was stealing electrical utilities from the city. This is, however, disputable as the utilities being stolen have been rumored to be water rather than electrical.
