The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded Barnesville $750,000 for the construction of Summers Field Park through the Transportation Enhancement program. The park will provide additional green space and be a trail head for new pedestrian paths and the sidewalk network. Features of the park include period street lighting, landscaping, a walkway and a water element.
