Longtime Lamar Clerk of Superior Court Frank Abbott retired after 42 years of service to Lamar County – 38 of them as clerk. Abbott succeeded his father, Buster Abbott, as clerk. His successor is former chief deputy clerk Caleb Tyson, his son-in-law. Interviews with Abbott and Tyson will be forthcoming in the 1.6.15 print edition of The Herald Gazette.
