For the first time in three and a half years, former Barnesville municipal judge Henry Abreu is a free man and no longer under the supervision of the criminal justice system.Abreu was freed from incarceration last week after months of treatment at Central State Hospital (CSH) in Milledgeville. Doctors there concluded Abreu’s solicitation of sex acts from a nursing home employee which resulted in his most recent arrest were the result of a stroke and subsequent condition that impaired his judgement and those charges have been dropped.Additionally, a judge in the Ocmulgee circuit where CSH is located vacated the one felony charge for which Abreu was on probation, freeing him from the control of the judicial system.
