Abreu off ventilator, out of nursing home and in jail

Henry Abreu, who ingested a quantity of meth during a drug raid at his Stafford Avenue home in Barnesville March 31, was arrested Friday after checking himself out of a Thomaston nursing home’s hospice facility, according to Lt. Chad Payne of the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office. He is now in the Lamar County Jail. ******************** NOTICE: This story and photo(s) are under copyright. They may not be republished or disseminated in any form or format – including social media – without explicit permission. ********************* Payne said Abreu came off the ventilator he had been on since the bust and checked himself out of Harborview Nursing Home in Thomaston Friday morning. He had called someone to pick him up but deputies arrived first and took him into custody. Abreu faces charges of trafficking in meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of meth, possession of drug related objects, possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence and obstruction of an officer.
