Advance voting in the July 26 general primary runoff comes to an end Friday. Ballots may be cast daily at the elections office in the administrative office on Thomaston Street. The only race on local ballots is that for the Republican nomination in the District 3, U.S. House race. That seat is being vacated by Rep. Lynn Westmoreland who is thought to be a future candidate for governor. Mike Crane and Steve Ferguson are vying for the GOP nod. The winner will face off with Democrat Angela Pendley in the general election Nov. 8. Elections supervisor Anita Reid reported Monday 118 Lamar countians have cast advance ballots thus far. Her office has mailed out 60 absentee ballots of which 38 have been returned.
