After contentious hearing, county okays solar farm

After a long, contentious public hearing Tuesday night, the Lamar County commission voted to approve a solar farm consisting of 83,000 panels on approximately 132.61 acres north of Milner. There were multiple conditions put on the zoning special exception to allow the installation. The commission voted 3-1 for approval with commissioner Ryran Traylor casting the lone dissenting vote. TMJ Investments, LLC sought the exception for the property which fronts Crawley Road and which is bisected by Cottage Road. The registered agent for the LLC is Theresia Hall of Pine Mountain, Ga.
