Air conditioner coils continue to be the target of choice for thieves in and around Barnesville. Coils from large HVAC equipment at the Fred’s location on Veterans Pkwy. were stolen overnight Wednesday. Earlier in the week, the air conditioners at the rundown old EMC building on College Drive were stolen. No word of any arrests in either case. BPD investigators have arrested a man charged with breaking into vehicles in the city. Immanuel Babajide was arrested July 21 and faces multiple counts of entering an auto. Babajide formerly lived on Murphey Ave. and reportedly had done several previous stints in jail for the same offense. BPD and LCSO investigators seized multiple electronic devices and other items likely stolen from vehicles.
