Former Lamar County school superintendent Dr. Raymond Akridge has been hired as superintendent in Oglethorpe County. Akridge, 65, lives in Watkinsville. He served as Lamar superintendent from 1984-1988. After that he headed up the Northeast Georgia RESA program.
