LCSO investigators Lt. Chad Payne and Sgt. Tim Clift were off duty and returning from a hunting trip Nov. 26 when they noticed guard rail damage on a bridge on Hwy. 41 South. Sensing trouble, they stopped and located a car upside down in the creek below the bridge.
They radioed for help and tended to the female driver until help arrived. The driver was removed by first responders and taken to a hospital.
The Herald Gazette has been unable to locate the driver or her family to check on her condition. If you have information, e-mail email@example.com.
