Aline M. Alexander

Mrs. Aline M. Alexander, age 94, died at her home at 616 Spencer St., Barnesville, GA., of natural causes on July 8, 2013. Mrs. Alexander was predeceased by her husband Clifford “Tip” Alexander, a retired Army Officer, whom she married on Feb. 4, 1954. Mrs. Alexander lived a long and adventurous life, working for defense contractors during World War II in Baltimore Md., head telephone operator in Thomaston, Ga., in the mid-1950s, and at the William Carter Company in quality control in the 1970s and 1980s, as well as following her husband in Europe and the U.S. during his Army career. Mrs. Aline Alexander was born in Meansville, Ga. on Jan. 31, 1919, her parents were Alvie Clifton Morris and Julia Hagan Morris. She had two older brothers, Homer and William; and an older sister, Susie. She is survived by her son Col. (Ret.) William Michael ‘Mike’ Alexander; her loving daughter-in-law, Misuk Kim Alexander; her grandsons, William Michael Alexander Jr. and Clifford Robert Alexander; Clifford’s finance, Jani McFadden of Seoul, Korea; and her nieces, Marie, Linda, Sandra, Jan and Toni; and nephew Scott. In celebration of Mrs. Aline M. Alexanders life, it is requested by the family that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Thomaston Hospice, 316 W. Gordon St., Thomaston, Ga., 30286. A memorial service will be held at Coggins Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until the service hour and immediately afterwards, internment to be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Arlington National Cemetery where she will join her husband Clifford “Tip” Alexander. Coggins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
