Alleged arsonist released on bond

Alleged serial arsonist Travis Leroy Ball posted bond in Upson County Tuesday and has been released. Ball, 46, was returned to the Lamar County jail to be fitted with an ankle monitor at his own expense and then set free until trial. He faces arson charges here and in Upson County. Lamar deputies arrested him as he fled into Lamar County January 8 after allegedly setting fires at two homes in Upson County. He is formally charged with arson in connection with a fire at the former home of Hodges Poore on Hwy. 41 South here. Ball was granted a $20,000 cash bond here January 16 and later posted that amount. He was transferred to the Upson County jail where he had been housed until posting a $150,000 bond there Tuesday. Ball must wear the ankle monitor and is confined to Houston County except to attend to medical matters or attend court. He lives at 156 Carter Circle in Warner Robins.
