A Lamar woman accused of bashing her three-month old daughter against a headboard when she would not go to sleep will be in court here April 23 seeking release from jail on bond. Linda Jessica Gunn, 19, was arrested in early March after taking her daughter, Victoria, to a Griffin orthopedist for a possible broken leg. The child was found to have a broken femur and multiple other injuries and the doctor’s office summoned authorities. The mother faces nine counts of first degree cruelty to children. Legal notice has been served of the state’s intent to take the child, who is in protective custody, from the mother permanently. Judge Bill Fears will hear the bond motion. Gunn is represented by J. Lansing Kimmey.
