On Sunday, 08/07/2016, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Steven Keith Spires, 31, was arrested at the Scottish Inn in McDonough, Georgia. The arrest was made by members of the McDonough Police Department and members of the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest followed a brief standoff when Spires initially refused to exit the hotel room to surrender to law enforcement personnel. Spires did surrender without incident.Spires was arrested on several warrants from Spalding County. During the incident Carmen Clay, 19, who was travelling with Spires was arrested by the McDonough Police Department for interference with custody. She was held by the McDonough Police Department, and for possible charges from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.During the incident, Spires’ 12 year old daughter, who had been travelling with Spires, was taken into custody and turned over to the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services. Spires is being held in the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, without bond, on the following charges:1. ChildMolestation2. AggravatedChildMolestation 3. StatutoryRape4. SexualBattery5. Sodomy6. Incest
