Alleged gang members charged in armed robbery

Spalding County sheriff’s investigators have arrested three men on armed robbery and a host of other charges after the allegedly held up four customers at a convenience store. The official news release from Capt. Tony Ranieri follows: Three people are in custody charged with Armed Robbery and numerous other charges stemming from an investigation into the robbery of 4 people who stopped at a convenience store on N. Hill St @ Northside Drive. According to Sheriff Stewart investigators have been looking into numerous thefts and robberies involving local gang members of the ‘Zoo Crew’ part of the ‘Northside Bloods Gang’. Stewart stated that three of these gang members were targeting people coming to the convenience stores in the area as well as people visiting or living at the Northside Hills apartment complex. This past Sunday night four people drove up in a car to the convenience store and were robbed at gun point by this gang, shortly after that the same three were involved in a shooting in the City. Investigators continued receiving information and pulled their resources together with the Griffin Police Department investigators and were able to arrest the 3 suspects. Two of the suspects are juveniles who will be tried as adults in the Superior Court of Spalding County. Investigators have arrested 18 year old Deangelo Johnson known as ‘D Low’ of Northside Hills Apartments, 15 year old Tabias Lewis known as ‘TT’ of 615 Ellis St Griffin and 16 year old Drelin Dewberry of 312 Main St Griffin. All 3 have been charged with 3 counts Armed Robbery, 3 counts Aggravated Assault, 4 counts False Imprisonment and 1 count of entering an auto. These are serious charges for these young men to face said Stewart. False imprisonment holds a Life sentence. Stewart stated that investigators are looking into other robberies that have occurred in the area and if anyone has any information pertaining to those robberies are asked to contact the Criminal Investigative Division @ 770-227-9406. The 3 suspects have had their first appearance hearings and are being held without bond.
