Alleged killer pleads not guilty

By Walter Geiger A local street thug with a long criminal history pleaded not guilty to to eight counts filed against him in connection the the murder last year of Barnesville cab owner John Dixson. Jamarris Latuan (Man) Williams, 24, entered not guilty pleas to one count of malice murder, three counts felony murder, two counts aggravated assault, armed robbery and hijacking a motor vehicle February before Judge Tommy Wilson in Lamar superior court. He was represented at taxpayer expense by public defender Wanda Johnson. Dixson’s body was found dumped in a ravine off Forsyth-Yatesville Road in southeast Lamar County on March 17, 2012. Prosecutors allege Williams summoned Dixson for a ride, hijacked the cab, stabbed Dixson in the neck and left him to die along the isolated roadway. Williams was arrested quickly after the crime.
