Four alleged violent criminals charged in high-profile cases are scheduled to appear before Judge Tommy Wilson in Lamar superior court Thursday. Two are charged with murder and two are charged with rape.
Laquinda Shandrell Moreland, 36, will appear in court seeking bond on charges of murder, concealing the death of another and making false statements.
Moreland, who is from Knoxville, Tn., is charged in connection with the death of Charles Tice, 85, who disappeared in March. His body was found at a still-undisclosed location on April 5. After a lengthy investigation and crime lab analysis, Moreland was arrested Oct. 8 and charged with killing him.
Also set for a bond hearing is Arrington Bostic, 17, who is charged with murder, aggravated assault, loitering or prowling, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Bostic is charged with the shooting death of Deondre Florence at an apartment complex on Southland Drive on Buggy Days weekend Sept. 20. First responders were dispatched at 11:45 p.m. and found Florence dead in a parking lot.
After a manhunt, Bostic, who is from Monticello, turned himself in on Sept. 29.
Another inmate seeking bond is 21-year-old Jeremiah Gabriel who was arrested Oct. 29 and charged with rape. Gabriel’s address was listed as Gordon Commons A on the Gordon State College campus.
The case of a second alleged rapist Christopher David Basham, 35, is scheduled for judicial review. Basham lived at 420 Rivers Rd. in Williamson when he was first arrested on March 17, 2023.
