Alleged Monroe killer now in Lamar jail

A Monroe County woman charged with beating her five-year-old daughter to death in May 2014 is now in the Lamar County jail. Amanda Ann Hendrickson, 33, was moved here July 7 along with three other female Monroe inmates after they jumped on and severely beat a fifth female inmate at the Monroe jail. ’Since that time, they have threatened to beat up one of our female inmates so we had to segregate them,’ sheriff Brad White reported Monday. Hendrickson’s boyfriend, 35-year-old Roderick Buckner, recently entered a guilty plea in the murder of little Heaven Woods. He got life in prison and must testify against Hendrickson. District attorney Richard Milam has said he will seek the death penalty for Hendrickson. An autopsy performed at the GBI crime lab indicated the child died of blunt force trauma to the abdomen. The autopsy also revealed multiple old injuries that indicated a pattern of abuse over a long period of time on the parts of Hendrickson and Buckner. Hendrickson is charged with felony murder, aggravated battery, cruelty to children and making false statements.
