Mrs. Allene Naomi Ziss Walters, age 98, of Johnstonville, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 in a local healthcare facility.She was the daughter of late Mr. Gustave and late Mrs. Cora Ziss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Morgan William Walters; and a brother, Mr. Bob Ziss. Mrs. Walters was born in Toledo, Ohio, on July 28, 1914, but lived in Lamar County most of her adult life where she worked as a homemaker on the family farm. Mrs. Walters was a member and past Elder of the Barnesville Presbyterian Church, a quilter in the Joy Club, past treasurer of the Johnstonville Community Club and a Young-at-Heart Club member.Mrs. Walters is survived by a sister Gerry Ziss Demlow of Blissfield, Mich.; five children, Jack (and Elaine) Walters, Joanne (and Graham) Hayes, Jim (and Pam) Walters, John (and Monica) Walters and Judy (and Larry) Landry; six grandchildren, John (and Kay) Hayes, Leslie Hayes Westerberg, Todd (and Kristi) Walters, Glen (and Angie) Walters, Shelli (and Shane) Lance and Russ (and Nicole) Walters; two step-grandchildren, Brad Sweet and Chris (and Angie) Sweet; 16 great-grandchildren, Morgan Walters, Lauren Walters, Katrina Westerberg, Hannah Hayes, Robert Hayes, Tristian Hayes, Amy Westerberg, Ivey Walters, Colby Lance, Will Walters, Mckenzie Walters, Chase Lance, Wyatt Walters and Willow Walters; and three step-great grandchildren, Andrew Sweet, Eva Marie Sweet and William Sweet.Funeral services for Mrs. Allene Walters will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 in the Barnesville Presbyterian Church.
