‘Almost Maine,’ often called by reviewers ‘a Midwinter’s night dream’ in a nod to Shakespeare’s play of a different season, will be presented by the Gordon College Theatre.Performances are Wednesday through Saturday, Nov. 17-20 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. in the Gordon Fine Arts Auditorium. Tickets are available at the door.A collection of nine vignettes makes up this sweet, feel-good comedydrama. It is for mature audiences.Costume designer is Jonathan Dorsey.’Student lighting designed by Emily Gatlin is amazing for this production, all pinks and blues to simulate the northern lights. We’re also using musical interludes from the original production to give it an authentic feel.’Guest director Laura King ‘has a very good read on how she wanted to produce it and put it across,’ he added. ‘The audience is going to be very pleased with how they’ll be able to connect with the scenes. It’ll have a personal connection because it’s so realistic.’Each scene is acted by a different couple. The cast includes Barnesville residents Stephen Sparks (Phil and Jimmy), Thommy Harless (Man and Pete), Meagan Hand (Glory and Hope). Gara Pless (Ginette and Sandrine), Matthew Bozeman (Steve and Dave), Whitley Dismuke (Rhonda), Dillan Smith (Randy and East), Channing Wesley (Gayle and Waitress), Jenna Snidemiller (Marvalyn and Marci) and Travis Shipley (Lendall and Chad) round out the cast. ‘It’s an ensemble cast of 10 ‘“ five guys, five girls ‘“ and they’re all playing multiple characters,’ Dorsey said
