Star Amy Adams has left Barnesville as local filming of HBO’s ‘˜Sharp Objects’ starts to wind down. The cast and crew worked for almost two months in California before coming here.Mayor Peter Banks presented Adams with a framed proclamation Saturday afternoon on the set downtown proclaiming July 8 as Amy Adams Day. Chamber officials gave her a framed print of the depot signed by property owners the crew has worked with while lensing here.Director Jean-Marc VallÃ©e said he picked Barnesville on the fly while traveling between two other towns the location crew had scouted out. ‘I liked Barnesville when we passed through. They started out wanting a town square. We got to the second town and I said ‘˜let’s go back to Barnesville’,’ VallÃ©e said.Adams reported she has very much enjoyed her time in Barnesville. ‘Everybody has been so nice and supportive. This is a great place,’ she said.’Sharp Objects’ will air in eight episodes next summer. If it is renewed, the crew will be back during the summer of 2019.
