Barnesville Mayor Peter Banks, named outstanding citizen of the year at Tuesday’s chamber of commerce dinner, told the crowd that the award was “the best of all the awards I’ve received in my life.”Other award winners were United Bank, lifetime achievement in business for its long community assistance record and rescue of First National Bank last October; Carlton Maynard of G&M Enterprise, business person of the year; Glenn and Vicky Forsyth, who work with Empty Stocking Fund and other causes, volunteers of the year; Debbie Adamson of Slices Pizzeria, career woman of the year; Jack and Carla Beckham of Twin Dreams Angus and draft-horse farm, farmers of the year; Sgt. Stead Walker, LCSO, law officer of the year; Capt.
