Apostle Bobby Anderson Slaughter pleaded not guilty in Barnesville municipal court Tuesday, Aug. 25, on a total of 15 charges of various zoning code violations stemming from his now shut down House of Restoration halfway houses on Atlanta Street. Each charge carries a recommended fine of $300 for a total of $4,500.Slaughter, who did not have an attorney present, was given until his pretrial date of Jan. 11, 2010 to talk to solicitor Kristi Rowell to attempt to work out the charges. If no agreement is reached, his trial date is Feb. 23.
