Gregory Allen Milani, a 65-year-old Spalding County man, has been arrested in connection with a violent rape that took place Jan. 12.The full release from Capt. Tony Ranieri of the Spalding County S.O. follows:On January 12, 2012 the Criminal Investigative Division was contacted by a female victim, who provided information to investigators that she had been sexually assaulted and held against her will at a residence in eastern Spalding County. The victim also provided information that the male suspect took one of his firearms and placed it to her head and made the statement that he was going to kill her. The suspect fired 2 or 3 shots inside the house. The victim was able to get away from the residence and reported the incident to Law EnforcementAccording to Sheriff Wendell Beam due to the firearms and the threat that was made from the suspect, a search warrant was obtained by investigators and with the assistance of the Special Operations Division the search warrant was executed. Investigators arrested 65 year old Gregory Allen Milani of 526 Buckcreek Road Griffin, Georgia without incident. According to Sheriff Beam investigators removed firearms and other evidence relating to the sexual assault of the victim.Milani has been charged with Aggravated Assault; False Imprisonment; Criminal attempt to commit Rape; Sexual Battery; Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a Crime; Possession of Marijuana less than 1 oz. Milani is being held at the Spalding County Detention Center.
