Arrests made after shootings

Spalding County authorities have made several arrests in two separate shooting incidents. With the assistance of the community, officers located and arrested Patrick John Douglas without incident during a traffic stop. At the time of the stop he was found to be in possession of a firearm. He was wanted for questioning for his involvement in a shooting that occurred on 5th Street in East Griffin on Saturday, Jan. 26 as a result of a drug related argument. During the argument Christopher John Henry Zickefoose 20 years old of 6th Street Griffin, shot Patrick John Douglas in the chest. Press releases from Spalding sheriff Wendell Beam: Christopher John Henry Zickefoose was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault; Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a crime; Possession of Schedule IV drug zanax; Possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute; Failure to keep drugs in the original container; possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana. He is currently being held at the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center without bond. Patrick John Douglas is also being held at the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center on charges of Violation of Parole; Giving false name and Date of birth to a Law Enforcement Officer; Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon. The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office was asking for the help of the community in located white male Patrick John Douglas, also known as Patrick Osborne, 35 years old 5 foot 9 inches, 190 pounds, shaved head, hazle eyes, multiple tattoos on chest and arms, last known address is 269 Old Alabama Road Barnesville, Georgia. *********** On Sunday February 3, 2013 at 8:05 p.m., Deputies with the Uniformed Patrol Division were dispatched to the area of Ellis Dairy Road Griffin, Georgia reference to a person shot. The first responding officer arrived and located a male victim in the roadway with a gunshot wound. According the victim he was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle on Rehobeth Church Road when a white in color car got in behind them and attempted to run them off the road. The victim stated that they turned onto Ellis Dairy Road and confronted the driver of the white car who then shot the victim. The victim identified the shooter as Brandon Gilbert 25 years old of 144 Morris Mill Road Griffin, Georgia. Patrol officer’s provided a description of the vehicle and of Brandon Gilbert who was wanted for Aggravated Assault. While the investigation was on going Patrol officer’s located the described vehicle occupied by Brandon Gilbert, the vehicle was located on N. McDonough Road at Highfalls Road, as the officer activated the emergency equipment Brandon Gilbert refused to stop and fled from officer’s. After reaching speeds of 100 mph Brandon Gilbert turned onto Morris Mill Road and pulled into his driveway where he was taken into custody without incident. Brandon Gilbert is currently being held at the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center charged with Aggravated Assault; Aggravated Battery; Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a crime; Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon; Fleeing and attempting to elude; Driving on a revoked license; Reckless driving.
