Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fire that destroyed a mobile home on Johnson Street overnight Monday and may call in the state fire marshall’s office to assist.UPDATE: The state fire marshal’s office has been called in to investigate this blaze, according to Sheriff Brad White.When deputies and firefighters arrived, the trailer was ablaze but the resident, Harvey Gibson, could not be located.According to sheriff Brad White, an intoxicated Gibson was later found across the street. He claimed there was a gas leak inside and the trailer blew up when he lit a cigarette. “He claimed the explosion blew him across the street. The evidence at the scene does not match that story,” White said.Gibson is to be interrogated again and could face charges if it is determined he set the blaze.According to tax records, the trailer and lot are owned by Artie Maureen Banks of Fayetteville.More to follow…
