The Lamar County Board of Assessors has called a special meeting to set the appraisal value of the Piedmont Green Power plant here. PGP is seeking to slash its appraisal value and, as a result, its property tax bill. The cuts the want could cost property tax payers up to two mills on their bills. The meeting will be held Monday, July 29 at 2 p.m. in the meeting room at 408 Thomaston Street.
