The Lamar County Board of Assessors met Tuesday and approved its proposed budget for the 2010-2011 fiscal year. The budget was set at $220,066 down from $227,217 this year. The board did express concern over the state of its three vehicles. All are old. One is a rundown former sheriff’s department patrol car.”I talked with Wayne Patterson about that. He said we can use a county vehicle or sheriff’s department vehicles when they are not in service. They want us in the field,” chairman John Hamrick said. The board also welcomed potential new member Wayne Robinson. Robinson was observing the meeting. He is expected to be nominated for the fifth and final spot on the board next week by commissioner Bennie Horton Jr.
