Stephanie Austin was named the 2009-10 system-wide Teacher of the Year for Lamar County at the Dec. 8 board of education meeting. Austin, a fourth grade math teacher at the elementary school, is the wife of high school principal Derick Austin and the mother of middle school Trojan standouts Lance and Lawrence Austin.
