Auto theft charges dropped for locals busted in Connecticut

A Lamar County couple entered guilty pleas in Bristol County superior court in Connecticut last week as part of a plea deal and avoided the auto theft charges that were originally filed against them. Robert Brock, 34, of Barnesville and Christina Brock, 27, of Milner pleaded guilty to one count each of sixth degree larceny. They were given unconditional discharges and will not serve prison time. The charges arose after an incident at a Denny’s in Southington, Ct. after the Brocks allegedly attempted to leave the restaurant without paying for their meals and police were called. Christina Brock said she was going to their car to get money. Officers found Robert Brock in the restaurant and he told the same story. A check of the car they were driving indicated it had been stolen in Monroe County, Ga. There was no immediate indication as to why the charges related to the stolen car were dropped.
