Autopsy being done following 43-year-old’s death

The body of a 43-year-old Barnesville man is at the state crime lab for autopsy after he died in bed following his return home seemingly uninjured after a traffic accident, according to coroner Jim Smith. Byron Williams of a Mitchell Drive address totaled his truck Sept. 10 after he swerved to miss a deer. He told deputies at the crash scene that he was fine. The truck was towed and he called a friend to take him home. At about 11:30 p.m. that night he called his wife Kathy at her place of employment at a Thomaston Health Care facility and told her he was going to bed. She found him dead the following day. ”In that we had a young man with very minor health issues, I asked the state lab to do an autopsy,” the coroner said.
