Ayer leads GBI’s Statesboro office

Barnesville native Josh Ayer has been promoted to assistant special agent in charge of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Region 5 office in Statesboro. Ayer has been with the GBI for nine years and previously worked narcotics in Middle Georgia. He received his bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Georgia in 2006. He is the son of Jeff and K.B. Ayer. His grandparents are Lou Ann and Billy Joe Ramsey and Burma Ayer, all of Barnesville. His aunt and uncle are Jeannie and Kelley Haddock and he is a member of Pinta Lodge F& AM of Barnesville.
