Following in the footsteps of four past STAR students, he has named his academic bowl coach and Advanced Placement teacher Scott Turner as his STAR Teacher. ’I feel privileged and honored,’ said Barkley. ‘You have to be a pretty good student to be a STAR student.’ To obtain STAR status, high school seniors must have the highest score on a single test date on the three-part SAT and be in the top 10% or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average. Not only is Barkley a Top Trojan for the class of 2012, he earned an SAT score of 2030.
