The Barnesville city council voted unanimously to appoint multiple municipal judges at its regular meeting January 12.Rob Morton of Zebulon will serve as senior judge. Associate judges will include Jim Granum, Kathy Martin and Dan Rainey.Other appointments made by the council were: mayor pro tem, Lynn Wilson; auditor, Robyn Underwood-Chute; attorney, Norman Smith (Bobby Melton of Forsyth will serve in an interim capacity as Smith battles an illness); physician, Dr. Lee Woodall; solicitor J. Kristi Rowell; and McIntosh RDC board, mayor Peter Banks, Maxine Gibson and Lewis Fallings.The council also set qualifying fees at $45 – three percent of salary – for the seats up for grabs in the November 3 city council election. The seats are those for wards 2, 4 and 5.
