Barnesville makes managerial decisions

After conducting four interviews and convening for most of the day, the Barnesville city council has made managerial decisions which will take effect Feb. 1, 2018. Current director of public works David Rose has been offered the city’s manager’s post, according to mayor Peter Banks. Tim Turner, current assistant city manager, will remain in that position which will be renamed chief financial officer, Banks added. ”We have authorized city manager Kenny Roberts to make these offers,” Banks said. Roberts is currently at Emory undergoing treatment for lung cancer. Rose and Turner interviewed for the city manager position today. Also interviewing were current Barnesville police chief Craig Cooper and Brutz English, according to Banks.
