Sanders (Sam) East, longtime proprietor of the Barnesville Motel, died April 10 due to complications from COPD. He was 90.
East earned a bachelor’s degree from UGA and a master’s degree in religious studies from Vanderbilt. He was an ordained minister.
Funeral services will be held at Jackson Presbyterian Church in Jackson, GA on April 21 at 1:00 p.m. and April 22 at Corinth Christian Church in Loganville, GA at 2:30 p.m. A viewing will precede the Corinth service starting at 1:00 p.m.
