Baseball on tap today

Coming off a 12-2 drubbing of Manchester on Tuesday, the Diamond Trojans host Taylor County today for a non-region JV/varsity doubleheader. The junior Trojans start things at four o’clock followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m. Lamar County is 6-5 overall and tied for second in Region 5AA at 4-2. The Class A Vikings are 4-7. Baseball action at Gordon College this weekend as well as the Highlanders put a five game winning streak on the line as they host Abraham Baldwin in a three-game conference series. Game one is tonight at six o’clock followed by a 2:00 p.m. twinbill Saturday afternoon.Gordon is 17-13 overall and 4-2 in Region XVII action. The Lady Highlanders also in action this weekend as they host Coastal Georgia Sunday at 12 noon.
