Keep Barnesville Beautiful (KBB) is partnering with Gordon on a citywide beautification project aimed at enhancing the visual appeal of the community and promoting civic pride. Work will be done on the weekend of April 17-19.
On each of those days used tires can be dropped off at the Gordon parking lot off College Drive from 2-6 p.m. There is a limit of eight tires per person and proof of city residency is required.
Pick-up of tires is also available for those who need it.
On Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., teams of volunteers will scour the city, cleaning up litter and debris. Check-in is at the Gordon lot where safety vests, garbage bags and pick-up grabbers will be distributed.
During that same period, free shredding of personal and business papers will be offered.
Volunteers are much-needed to make this effort successful. For more information, to arrange tire pick-up or to volunteer, call 678.603.0375.
