The school board announced tonight the hiring of Becky Brown as principal of Lamar County Primary School. Brown has served as an assistant principal for the past nine years in the Monroe County school system. Prior to that she was a teacher in the highly-regarded Houston County school system. ”Mrs. Brown and her husband are the proud parents of twin kindergarten girls. Although her official duties will not begin until July 1, I am sure she will be spending time at the school before that date ‘“ getting ready to welcome parents, students and faculty when school begins in August,” school superintendent Dr. Bill Truby said in announcing the hire.
