Mr. Benny Ray Welch, age 64, of Barnesville, Ga., passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at his residence. Benny was born in Columbus, Ga. on Friday, January 1, 1954 to the late Robert Archie Welch and the late Shirley Miller Valdez. He was also preceded by his sister, Vicki Simmons; brother, Richard Welch. Benny worked as a truck driver for USF Holland. He loved to fish, spend time outside and was a great mechanic. Benny loved the Lord and believed in Him wholeheartedly. Benny is survived by his wife, Nancy Welch; his children and their spouses, Tonya and Paul Mote, Jenny and Kareem Taylor, Amy Welch, and Tiffany Welch; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters and bother-in-law, Becky McClary and Kay and Thomas McDaniel; step-brother, John Pope; step-sister, Candy Hedden; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Mr. Benny Ray Welch will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, May 14 at Fredonia Methodist Church Cemetery with Chaplin Gary Lewis officiating.
