Mrs. Betty Elaine Bagwell Wells, age 68, of Pike County passed away on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013 at her residence.She was born in Decatur, Ga., to the late Mr. Forest Buren Bagwell and the late Mrs. Nellie Mae Hayes Bagwell. She was a cashier at the Ingle’s in Griffin, Ga., and she was retired from Dundee Mills, having worked in the bleachery for 15 years. Mrs. Wells was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Barnesville, Ga.Survivors include her husband, Johnny M. Wells of Pike County; daughter, Karen Michelle Sparks (and David) of Gainesville; children, Terrell E. Scott Jr. (and Sherry) of McDonough, Earl Wayne Scott of Newnan and Michael A. Scott (and Shelly) of Thomaston; 3 step-children, Audie Wells (and Patricia) of Molena, Penny Fowler (and Eddie) of Cartersville and Dondi Wells (and Sissy) of Griffin; brothers, Thomas Robert “Buddy” Bagwell (and Mary) of McDonough and Raymond Bagwell (and Margaret) of Covington; sister, Martha Slappy of Conyers; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren (including Elijah Scott) and a number of nieces and nephews.Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Wells will be conducted Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at New Life Baptist Church at 2 p.m., with Rev. Derek Lovelady and Rev. Audie Wells officiating. Interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery.
