Betty Smith Crawford

Mrs. Betty Smith Crawford, age 88, of Barnesville passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014 at her residence.Mrs. Crawford was born in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Mr. Milton Wallace Smith Jr. and to the late Mrs. Nell C. Bramblett. She was a homemaker, community volunteer and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville. Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her late husband, Dr. John Brantley Crawford.Survivors include her two daughters, Cathy Crawford Sims (and James) of Lancaster, Texas, and Christine Crawford of Thomaston; a son, John Brantley Crawford Jr. (and Leah) of Barnesville; two grandchildren, Catherine Sims McKay (and John) of Pantego, Texas, and Brantley Sims (and Megan) of Savannah, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Maxine Smith of Barnesville; and a number of other relatives also survive.Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Smith Crawford will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014 at 3 p.m. in the First Untied Methodist Church of Barnesville with the Rev. Dana Overton-Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
