Success on the gridiron breeds success of the field but, sadly, it also breeds shysters who attempt to capitalize on the team’s success by lining their own pockets with ‘˜donations’. Trojan head coach Jamie Abrams reports that his team is suffering with this problem right now as it attempts to kick off its annual fundraising campaign. Shysters are trying to beat the team to the punch – and your checkbook. The coach warns that any company that asks you to make out a check to them and not the team itself is likely scamming you. ‘We generally get either very little or none of that money,’ Abrams warned.
