Bibb County Schools ruled last week there will be no fall semester face-to-face instruction on its campuses and ordered a delay in the start of fall sports for its high schools Reports indicate dozens of athletes are seeking hardship waivers to transfer from Bibb’s high schools to schools which are playing.Two Bibb schools, NE Macon and SW Macon, are members of Region 3AA along with Lamar County. The football Trojans were to host SW Macon Oct. 16 and NE Macon on Nov. 20.’At the moment, our region has asked us not to reschedule these football games. However, we are in discussions to replace those games with other schools facing the same issues and hope to have a new schedule soon,’ Trojan head football coach Jeff Sloan said.The Lady Trojans softball team was to host SW Macon today and NE Macon on Sept. 1. LC was to travel to SW Macon on September 15 and NE Macon on Sept. 29. For today’s game, LC softball is substituting a non-region game with Crawford County.’We have lost four games with Bibb schools and one with Spalding, pending their vote Tuesday night. Right now, Spalding schools are playing region-only schedules. The Bibb schools in our region don’t appear to be playing softball for the remainder of the season so we have adjusted our schedule accordingly. I have a bunch of games to try and make up due to cancellations,’ Lady Trojans coach Mike Oberg concluded.
