GreenThere will be sports galore this weekend at the Lamar County schools athletic complex.The Diamond Trojans will start things off today at 5:55 p.m. when they host Morgan County at Aldora Field. The Trojans and Bulldogs are tied for second place in Region 4-AA and the winner will be in the driver’s seat for a home field playoff series in the first round of the state playoffs.Saturday the undefeated junior varsity Trojan baseball team will host Eagle’s Landing Christian at 10 a.m. followed by the varsity hosting non-region foe Georgia Military at one o’clock.The LCCHS tennis teams will host a double header as they take on Putnam County at 10 a.m. before welcoming Jackson at 1 p.m.Trojan Field will be the site of the second annual Middle Georgia Relays as Lamar County will host Redan, Southwest Dekalb, Mary Persons, Howard, Spalding, Mundy’s Mill, Jones County and Eastside Covington. Field events start at 10 a.m. with track competitions scheduled to get underway at 12 noon.(Note: We would love to tell you about LCCHS soccer but the coaches will not supply information despite repeated requests.)
